Land Tenure describes the laws and arrangements governing how rights in land are acquired, held, conveyed, described, portrayed, located, and protected. Land tenure encompasses title, boundary records, geographic based portrayal of information and the land surveying process that protects rights in land by determining the on-the-ground legal limits of ownership.
